New Qantas Accident: Now Door Open Mid-Air (

I am wondering how many people may want to fly with Australian Qantas Airlines as accident after accident happen there that seriously question the safety regulations and maintenance. Now door opens mid-Qantas flight; plane makes an emergency landing. This happened TODAY, just few days after the hole opening emergency 3 days ago.

A door opened during a Qantas flight yesterday Australian time, causing the flight to make an emergency landing. The Boeing 737-800 plane departed Adelaide, Australia, was bound for Melbourne, but returned to Adelaide to make the landing.

Passengers in the plane said there was chaos in the cabin when the plane's door opened. Qantas officials, however, say that the door did not close correctly over a wheel bay and the flight turned back towards Adelaide when it was near Murray Bridge.

When the jet arrived back in Adelaide, some of the passengers aboard were transferred to another Qantas flight. Some passengers refused transport on another Qantas flight though, and chose to fly with Virgin Blue or another way of transport. It is not known how many passengers were aboard, however the flight could have carried up to 254 passengers.

This incident follows a hole blasting in the fuselage of an international flight of a Qantas 747 to Melbourne, forcing the plane to land in Manilla, Philippines. The incident also follows Jetstar boss Alan Joyce being named yesterday as the new chief executive of parent company Qantas, who will take over for Geoff Dixon on November 28.

I know this is a old thread but it relates and why start another for this(maybe someone already did?). Don't know where it happened but saw on euronews that a Qantas A380 on landing blew some main tires. Passengers were watching this from the tail video and out windows. Airbus engineers are investigating how/why this happened.
