Guess who won? Maybe they will have to finally fix all of the things wrong with it before it comes back online in a couple of months.

This was taken from another forum:

Happened in STL. I guess a NW tug was trying to get an aircraft out of the pad and slid on the ice...whoops.

I heard in light of recent events, RZ was furious that this aircraft was written up.

MX called the crew...they didn't want them to put it in the book...

Can someone familiar with aircraft structure give their opinion on how this will be fixed? How much of the skin will be replaced? Ribs? Maybe it can't be fixed?

Could you imagine being the person sitting in that seat. That would be a shock.

Does the logbook have this in it yet?

There was no one in it at the time, it was sitting on the pad in STL.

A little speed tape, a DMI, and off you go ;)

ouch!

The tug has a black and blue eye so the plane did leave a scratch on him.

I say this thing never flies again. I've seen less damage than that and the a/c gets grounded for good

MX says it'll fly again, and will only be OTS for about a month or so. Apparently, the tug driver tried to quietly leave the scene of the crime also....

What you have to worry about is all the parts that they ROB from this while it sits. I am absolutely certain everything will be properly doucumented

The tug driver told HK..."Hey man, just be glad I had fast reflexes."

EMB said the damage is over $1.25 Million. Not counting the lost revinue, and the amonut of money it is costing the people from EMB to come up from BNA to work on it in STL. They working on it now, it needs alot of work, but it is fixable. I certainly don't want to be the first to fly it afterward. The 'gremmlins make babies in the hanger'. I can't even imagine how BENT that thing is going to be when it gets out.

That 1.25 million of repair work quoted was before they even walked around to the right side...

those planes are held together by DMI stickers..

Yea 852, one of the old/new ex-Mesa birds. Why, oh why, couldn't they just write that POS off. 851, too.

You're welcome for our willingness to agree to sell it to you. Thank your management for all of their sound decisions.

Our management? You're right, the problem with our management is that they are not willing to start failing ops in China and Hawaii and continue to provide cheap service at the expense of their workforce all the while driving their worth to approximately 16 cents a share out in the market.

My point was: don't complain to us about a bad airplane, that YOU bought from us. Mesa didn't hold a gun to Hulas' head when he was writing the check.

Cute response, though.

I am struggling to figure out if your are actually J.O. or you just really love his work. Why is it that you LOVE Mesa so much? I have many friends that work there and they are the first ones to spout crap. You seem to be the poster boy for "The People Who Love Mesa" Club.

Not quite. I stand up for our pilot group, and no one else.

Review my posts, and you'll see statements that reflect that sentiment.

I thought the implication that we unloaded a piece of trash airplane on TSA against their will was stupid, so I said something. There's a reason we got rid of it.

My favorite 851 write up is the "Strong Fuel Smell on Takeoff, Climbout, and ten minutes after"

Sounds about like a old 172 with the mogas STC. Dont tell me HK is fillin up planes at the St. Ann's BP station again.

You know if that was legal, he'd do it without batting an eye. He'd also put us in the damn Econo Lodge every where we went if we didn't have some sort of hotel contract/standards.
