Does anybody know if we can ride Singapore internationally? I am thinking of taking them from EWR-SIN. I am pretty sure riding up front won't be an option, just not sure if they will let crewmembers from other airlines ride in the back.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Jumpseating exists in the USA only. Some foreign carriers may consider letting you sit in the jumpseat, just make sure you also have a ticket.;)

Yep they will charge you even if you sit in the cockpit.

I once caught a Cathay jumpseat from Taipei to HKG without a ticket. The Capt. was very nice about it (the ticket agents were not). There was a Flight Attendant on the other jumpseat (she said anyone could sit in their cockpit j/s including revenue passengers, this was pre-911 so maybe the policy is different now).

Side story ... the ticket agents were very concerned about the oversold status of the flight. They told the Capt. they wanted to be able to put company employees on the jumpseats. His response, "My, airplane ... my jumpseats ... I say who goes ... the FedEx guy goes." He then turned and walked away. I was very impressed and thought about how many U.S. Capt's could learn a lesson from that example.

If a pilot at my company decided to take an offline fedex pilot over a company employee/pilot, he'd deserve a kick in the balls.

This wouldn't happen in a million years here at cathay......maybe pre 9/11 but definately not now......they charge there own employees just to non-rev and after that, they still don't get biz or first.....

If he put a pilot in the cockpit jumpseat over one of your accountants, he'd deserve much more than that!! For example, he'd deserve a hearty thanks from all the professional pilots of the world.........which obviously excludes your sorry hide, ( you're not a pilot are you?). Have a nice day and GFY.
