I have always found those polls interesting. I was off on a medical LOA for an extended period of time and was facing the prospect of not being able to come back. I went to HVAC trade school because I am a mechanical-like to fix it type guy. I could never sit in a cubicle, meetings etc..

Working in the field is no joke and not easy but still fun.

I will say this I know hvac techs making 100k but they work their ba!!z off. It aint tryin to say awake in an airbus on an all nighter thats for sure.

I happen to believe the will be a ton of opportunity in the future for skilled tradesman (people) in this country. No one wants to do it, everyone thinks it is below them and of course we can all get a MBA online in our underwear. There will be a glut and if you are smart, use the right tools to save time, learn the right way, and can communicate with customers you can do well. That goes for plumbers, hvac, general contractors, electricians etc

The last thing is you can do both. Having a back-up is a great idea and once you get a schedule down and can find a partner to cover when you are on the road. Just an idea. Going to fly is like going on vacation. Good tradesmen will always have work..
