Here's my best shot:

No. Not really. Around 6/month, although I hear there is one more class for 2006 (although its filled up) and then the next will be 1Q 2007.
--New hires get what base? Can you get Philly right after Grnd School?
That seriously varies. It could be yes, it could be no. You can probably get it within a few months though, depending on attrition and vacancy awards.
--How long after sending app do you get call for interview?
Depends on you resume, quals, how much they are hiring. With hiring slowed, I would think it would take awhile unless you get someone to walk it in or stand out in some way.
--Are they Big on if you're currently flying? (I'm ex-airline and hi jet time but haven't flown in a LONG time)
No idea. I pretty much though all airlines wanted active pilots. One thing - they do like former 121/135 guys so you'd stand out in this respect.

Unless you know somebody or Have a CRJ type it will take a very long time to hear back. I know some people that have sent there stuff in over 7 months ago and havent heard anything. I am current 121 and havent heard anything for months. Like other people have said, they are not hiring a whole lot anymore and they like internal recs. If they get the midwest flying that could change though.

good luck!

Sorry to rain on the parade but from what I hear, they are snatching up UND graduates like crazy...Also if you are a UND grad they will take you at 500/50 with the CRJ course...So I really don't know whats going on with other peoples apps because from what I hear, they are still hiring.

I didn't go to UND and had no one on the inside, but I sent in an application last spring... had an interview within 3 weeks and got the offer the very next day. There aren't currently any classes planned until 2007, but we are still accepting resumes and interviewing. An internal reccomendation goes a really long way here... possibly further than flight time.

Groovinaviator...so you have been waiting since spring after being hired to start your class. Wow if I am calculating correctly...thats like at least 6 months...please correct me if I am wrong

Um... no, sorry for the mis-communication. My interview was June 6th and I started class on the 26th of June. I finished OE mid September and now I'm livin' the dream on reserve.

Cool...that makes since. I'm just finishing up a contract with a hospital flying docs/patients around in a King Air 200 then I am probably going to submit my resume. So you say they are not starting a class until 07. Any talk of how many pilots they are planning to hire for the year?

I think that all depends on whether or not we grow. I'm sure there will be some hiring due to attrition, but other than that it's hard to say. There is a real possibility of getting some more CRJ-200's and also a possibity if flying some 900's for Northwest, but I don't want to get my hopes up too high. Obviously more flying will require us to hire more pilots... See the "Midwest Airlines RFP" thread.
