Nice. More GoPros in the cockpit than I've ever seen!

That's a very rare early-model P-38.

I liked the GoPro shot mounted to the Corsair's left wing, as it unfolded.

Am I the only one that thinks the Corsair pilot looked like Darth Vader flying his Tie-Fighter in Star Wars?

My two favorite WWII war planes.
Have to go with a stick over a yoke for that flying though.

Thanks for sharing.

Not really -- just looks like one since it is wearing the low profile cowlings without the big chin intakes that you usually see on the later models.

It is actually one of the best known P-38s in the world for the last 30 years or so.

I think it's an awesome look. Liked the whole cloth helmet from WW2, oxygen mask and blue sunglasses with the goggles on his head.

Watching this made me think what the world of footage would be like if Robin Olds, "Pappy" Boyington, Robert S. Johnson, Gunter Rall and so many others, if they had GoPros when they went out for a mission.

Ah! Thanks......I didn't realize it was that plane (wasn't it Lefty Gardner's?).

You're right, though.....I was going by the cowl and oil-coolers.

Somewhere buried in a box I have a picture of Lefty Gardner's airplane as it blew an engine. I was in the back of a B25 taking pictures and he was coming up behind on our right. He went back to land.

Love that airplane.
