Can someone recommend a decent flight school around the Palm Beach area? A friend is looking to get his PPL, but doesn't know where to start.

He could start with the following

AOPA Flight Training - Flight School Directory (http://flighttraining.aopa.org/learntofly/school/flight_schools/)

He could also contact the Flight Stds District Office of the FAA and ask for a list of gold seal instructors--instructors who have sent at least 10 students for certification in 24 mos, and at least 80% passed the first time.

Or:

NAFI - National Association of Flight Instructors (http://www.nafinet.org/member_directory.aspx)

I don't how far he's willing to commute, but about 30-40 miles or so up the road, there's a couple good places at SUA and FPR.

I currently am getting my ppl at sua through treasure coast flight training and its a great environment. The planes are in great condition and I would recommend going there.

I live in WPB and don't really like the Part 141 schools that are here. However, if I were to recommend one under Part 61, I'd say SunQuest Aviation outta KLNA.
