Any ATP alumni here? I see that ATP offers an accelerated 15 day instrument program. Is it worth the investment? How likely is it that this program will exceed 15 days? Any thoughts?

Let me answer that question for you: NO

Unless you've been flying with instrument rated pilots, observing IFR flights and have been studying your butt off, a 15 day course is a horrible idea. In my opinion it would be incredibly unsafe. Think about it.

In all instructing I've done and all the instrument students I've trained (a lot), there's not a single one I would've signed off in 15 days, not even some of the best, hardest working students I ever had.

There are several NTSB reports out there that show new instrument rated pilots unfortunately killing themselves and others, in weather that could be considered mild IFR conditions. AOPA used to post stuff on their website about it all the time, not sure if they still do or not.

I just finished my instrument training a few months ago and I could not imagine doing it all in 15 days. Talk about drinking from the firehose. And there's no way you would have time to get any real world experience flying in different types of weather in 15 days. Too many pilots get their instrument ticket without any real world experience and then get themselves killed shortly after.

Not only that, but think if your were just prepped for the checkride over and over again with no outside experiance. Fly the same approach until you get it, never less the idea of retaining all the information.
