FDX- KIX Layover directions to "Toast Lady"
Had a KIX layover and the crew I was with mentioned the "Toast Lady" for breakfast... After much research and getting lost, I decided to share the info for future explores looking for a simple western breakfast...Ive attached a picture map to help.. Total cost 1100 Yen (including metro fare). Pretty good food.
The Toast Lady runs a small sitdown cafe about 5 subway stops away from the SwissHotel in downtown Osaka... The breakfast is a huge order of toast that is fresh cut about 2 inches thick. Coffee is brought right away in a pitcher, then the rest of the food as its ready.... Toast, a mound of cheesy eggs and another mound of really thin bacon. It takes awhile to get it all but it does show up.. We asked for more when done and she made up another plate at no cost...It is worth the outing just to learn the metro system and have a very quite and filling breakfast. I have no idea who found this place first, but there's a fedex plane model sitting on the bookcase from unknown crew members. The cost of the meals was 600 yen (tip extra... even though japan, I did)
Ok from SwissHotel go downstairs to the "NAMBA" metro station. Follow signs to the Midosuji line (Its the red line). Buy your ticket for the subway and pay the 230 yen rate, ....(We messed it up and bought the 200 having to pay the extra 30 at the exit point..) You will be traveling towards endpoint SENRI-CHUO, you will get off at the NAKATSU station If you look at the jpeg map attached it shows the Namba station as "M20" and the Nakatsu as the "M15"... five stops away. When you exit go out the number 4 exit. Following the map proceed towards the curving overpass in front of you. At the overpass make a left on the main street. You will pass a large hotel in 2 blocks (on the right) followed by a firehouse (on the right). You will go under 2 quick overpasses and the restaurant is located immeadiately after a "nissan" service center on the left side. The letter "Y" is the name of the restaurant... serious...It is posted on the sign out front..as well as above the entry door. It was about a 5 block walk from the metro station.
I enjoyed it because I finally figured out how to buy a ticket to use the metro and had a great meal as well.. Best of luck everyone...
Sunburn
PS..... Well disregard the jpeg map I was trying to post... I guess I don't have that privilege to post pictures.. Any ideas???

Thanks sunburn for the gouge. I recently took the train/rail out to KIX from the Swissotel and Namba station to DH on KLM and it was fairly simple and easy to do also. Glad I did it, now I know the ROE as far as using their rail system.
