Nope she won't be with me, I'm deadheading in and doing a line check the next couple of days on the 13th and 14th. It's a bit of a pain because we stay at the company hotel at the airport. We can see what develops and if a meetup is possible. If not there is always next time!

Update: we survived a 16 hour tour to Shenzen and Guangzhou on Tuesday. Phew the millions of people and cars and pollution almost did me in. Made Seattle look like an insignificant town in the sticks. The rising middle class with money made me feel like a church mouse.

Mr vagabond forgot to set alarm so we wont be taking the hovercraft to Macau today. Back to TST for dim sum! The only problem we have had is avoiding the hawkers trying to interest us in a fake Rolex and tailored suits. Don't need a suit under a robe. Heh heh.

Off to Ladies Market for the early bird specials!

ryguy-send me a PM if you can and think we can meet next week.

Sitting in hotel lobby on my on my Kindle. Taking a vacation from moderating. Whee.

You CAN get a helluva deal on tailored clothing, but not from the street vendors - as you know. There are a couple of threads with recommendations.

It's 2345 on Feb 10. Mr. vagabond and I stood at the corner of Nathan Road and Humphries for 5+ hours waiting for and watching the Cathay Pacific Parade of Lights. Despite about 2 million people, we did not get crushed or stomped on or pickpocketed or pushed around. The first float finally came by after we'd been waiting for 3.5 hours. Of course, it was the Cathay Pacific float led by about 30 flight attendants. The float itself featured another FA and a captain who waved to the crowd as enthusiastically as he could.

With about 15 to 20 minutes left, my legs finally gave out and we struggled back out to where the crowd was thinner. Walked another 45 minutes back to the hotel. I admit defeat, but had a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget. It rivaled the New Year's Eve I spent on the Champs Elysee.
