Default Atlas Air

Is Atlas and Southern Air the same company? Is your new contract downloadable somewhere?

Thanks.

No, two separate airlines along with Polar Air Cargo, a third airline. One overall holding company, Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings. There is no new contract to download. The 2011 contract we operate under is probably posted somewhere but there’s not much to see.

Ok thanks. I am getting emails weekly now from Atlas and Southern for recruitment, but not Polar. Is that a single contract for all 3 airlines?

Atlas and Polar from the pilot’s perspective are the same airline, just the matter of what our call sign is for this flight. Southern is a separate airline with a different contract. Separate pilot groups between the two.

Are the airlines being merged as one or remaining separate? Is it desired to have a single contract? Is Southern also an amendable contract?

me as well; yet they don’t give a phone number to call. You respond back and they set up a time that they’ll call you... and then they don’t. Been stood-up twice last week.
whatever.

Southern and Atlas will be merged. Polar exists as a separate certificate in order to keep lucrative Asian landing slots. Contract info is accurate enough on airlinepilotcentral. Good bad and ugly detailed in nauseating detail across many threads here.

I know it can be frustrating when you’re trying to parse through hundreds and thousands of posts to get some basic information. Regardless of how many times they have been asked, feel free to ask your questions here (or PM me). I’ll do my best to answer any questions to the best of my ability from the Atlas side of the house.

For those considering Atlas.....we are in the process of parking at least 5 747's. In addition, we have already lost 2 767's that were sent to ATI. We may lose more.

Southern is losing the 737-400s that were doing DHL flying. It looks like some 777's that were likely going to go to Southern now are probably going to another operator. Amazon 737's are probably coming, but that could change.

The outlook at Atlas + Southern is very murky and getting worse. Atlas management refuses to negotiate SCOPE. Pilots are leaving as fast as they can.

Choose carefully before accepting a class date here.

Get a 777 type then apply to Kalitta.
