It doesn’t matter what your experience is, it can happen to anyone if you get complacent. I’ve also seen guys almost stall a plane coming from Boeing’s or Airbus because they forgot there’s no ATs on RJs.

These incidents prove that it can happen to any of us! I distinctly remember after the Max crashes and other stall events that many around here boastfully stated.....”Us American pilots would have just taken control of that airplane and flown it, recovered and saved the day!......see what foreign trained crews did”
Be humble and remember this business is unforgiving!

Except they did take control, hand fly it and handled business.
If anything it backs up the stereotype.

These days all the ACMI'S are getting their pick from a wide variety of experience. For all we know they could have very easily had an A380 captain on the right seat.
They took care of business and flew out of it, that's the important point

You are absolutely correct ^. Sadly though the lesser developed pilot ego requires a lot of them to throw “lesser than themselves “ under the bus so that they can feel better about their self perceived skills and experience. Dangerous and sad thing.
The age old “this could have happened to me” would be much more applicable here and would actually show your maturity, in both your persona and flying skills.
I think it is very likely someone screwed something up, but more importantly is they flew out of it and now hopefully we can learn from it.

The thought, "There but for the grace of God go I," when observing challenges experienced by others (in both life and work), has kept me humble-ish, forced me to learn rather than judge, and helped me to avoid many kinds of trouble.

Oh boy, don't go bringing him into it; his big thing is free will; he won't get involved.
He's an absentee landlord, a kid with an ant farm. He doesn't care, and doesn't lift a finger let alone give any grace....
However, since it could happen to anybody, I'd go with folks in glass houses shouldn't throw stones....
better yet, let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
