It's time the various unions get to gather and start working to end this archaic law.
I didn't think anyone else actually considered this an option. I assumed all pilots assumed they were by nature flaccid and impotent. Goes to show how feckless the unions have become that there is no concerted effort to change the main hinderance to bargaining. By the same token, there is no outreach I've observed to future pilots. All the training programs I've seen are corporate driven. No union intervention at all to help the next generation, and unsurprisingly all the gratitude goes to the corporation until extreme circumstances arrive. There is really no larger political vision of any of the pilot unions that I've seen, no greater sense of community, no greater aims than increasing a 401k match by a few more points each year. Then you ask why and they "da rLA!" like it is a commandment from God. You'd think people that fly through the air almost at the speed of sound would have a little more vision as to what is possible vs what currently is.
