No essay for me in December. There was a technical interview with one person and a personnel interview with three people.

Complete crap shoot, but every training schedule I have ever seen has a few small blocks (2-4) of days off randomly placed and subject to change at a moments notice.

You won't get weekends off since there is training on sat and sun. It just depends on the schedule. As stated you will get random days off. When I went through a few months ago I was down in Miami 65 nights straight. Like I told my wife, a 17 day trip will be cake after that.

Depends. 767 initial three years ago was 7 weeks. The only significant break I had was three days off after my Oral, which at the last minute got switched to three days off BEFORE my Oral. Still went home. Had a day off for Thanksgiving the day after my type ride. The 747 class that started ahead of us had 10 days off during Thanksgiving and finished weeks after we did. Several new classes starting up this month, perhaps we'll hear some fresh intel.

Is is true that you now have 30 days to complete the written test once you receive it? It used to be that you only had 2 days to return it...

I believe they are required to only give you 1 day off in 7 so you can at least count on that and just depends on where you are in the program as to whether you have more than 1 at a time. Example if you are flying the paper tiger, it may not be available on Tues/Wed therefore you get 2 days off in a row.

Jumpseating is risky as now that you are with Atlas, you no longer have a higher priority for the jumpseat like you may have once had especially as a regional pilot (Delta has priority on Delta mainline, then a Delta feeder...so on and so forth, Atlas is on the bottom of that list). If you have 2 days off in a row that is a risky move (in my opinion). Plus the fire hose you get fed from here comes with instructions in 1500's English so you will also lose valuable study time, something to consider. (In other words, our training program is not well organized and you are essentially responsible for your studying on your own a lot)

Mostly you are on probation, not a good way to start off if you can't make it back to class, jumpseat knowing its a very calculated risk to yourself.

No, this was removed when the new regime of interviewers stepped in

Those of us currently in training had a break over the Christmas holiday. Otherwise, ground school is 6 days a week (Mon-Sat.) during FTDs and Sims your schedule is all over the place. One on one off, some guys have a stretch of four off, etc. if you wanted to try to go home, you'd be on your own to get back and forth.

The vast majority of lines in CVG have at least some Asia flying on them. There are only a handful of "domestic" only lines (by domestic I mean flying the DHL sort nightly), but several 60 day lines are split between Asia and CVG hub flying. Out of approximately 30-34 lines (which seems to have been the average over the past year or so), there are usually only 4-5 reserve lines, and most of those are R2 in TPE or NRT.

Hybrid lines, which have 3-4 days of R2 or sometimes R1 at the beginning or end of the month are also common.

One thing to be aware of on the 767 in CVG, you will be paid off of the trip rig. Our lines do not have enough block hours to break the 62 hour minimum, so you end up getting paid 4.85 hours of credit per 24 hours away from base. In just over 2 years, my highest block hour total in any single month has been 45 hours.
So what type of line could a new hire expect to get in the beginning? After a few months? 6 months? A year?
And, what would you say your average monthly pay credit was in the last 2 yrs? How about days off?

When do you get your Atlas badge and become active in CASS?
When can you signup your family for ZED tickets and possibly flying them to MIA to visit?
