As a long haul pilot you're lucky to get two landings a month if you're proactive. The max bank angle for crosswind landing is only six degrees. Therefore it is a handful when winds are blowing like they did in LAX. The plane is waiting for an engine change in ONT.

Anybody can fly this plane and anybody can fly this plane well after gaining time and experience. For 12 plus hour flights 4 pilots are needed. Add that fact the aircraft periodically needs an autoland it makes for 5 pilots then.

True, you were not there. Nor was I. while we wait for more facts, so far it was a windshear go-around. Easily Monday morning quarterbacked, wait for the report.
On a side note, is this Captain Carlson's private airport, complete with it's own WATER RUNWAY by his home in upstate NY???

To be perfectly clear, JC is NOT one of us!
He and the others are living a very high life that we will never know. They have climbed there on our backs and some of us are oblivious to to the feel of their boots on our shoulders.

Plus, JC had those digs long before he came here from Northwest by way of Spirit. As you may recall, Northwest was the poster child for rancorous employee vs management relations. He and his cohorts are well versed in this sort of thing.

For those interested in coming here, Atlas just no showed negotiations without even informing the union they wouldn't be attending. They also have been sending letters to our families while we are on trips. Calling people and asking for doctors notes if they are sick. It all adds up to the worst atmosphere any of us have ever worked in. Please educate yourself on the current environment here before applying or accepting a class date. Years ago it was a great place to work at. Not so much anymore. Of course, it's all the union/pilots fault according to them. What a shame.

Management said they would negotiate in good faith. How can you "negotiate in good faith" and not actually show up to negotiations?? I mean, I've got a degree from a fairly decent school but I didn't get my MBA...maybe that's why it's so difficult to for me understand..hmmm
