It can be very frustrating not to know where your resume sits in the stack of "to be called" or if it even made it to the "to be called" stack or if it was even received/printed and reviewed.

A couple points:

This may have been mentioned before, but it is probably worth repeating. For those who applied numerous months ago and are awaiting the first HR phone call, it might be beneficial to apply again from a different e-mail this time around. It was rumored in the past that as the computer system receives the resumes/PAQs, if it recognizes your e-mail, and already received your info from that e-mail, it doesn't accept your new stuff. I have nothing to back this up, but it wouldn't hurt right?

Also, if you are fortunate enough to have a current Atlas crew member recommend you through the internal system (which is basically a direct e-mail and LOR to HR), the company came out with a new system to track an applicant through the various steps. HR sends an e-mail to that crew member keeping them informed on which step of the interview process the recommended applicant has accomplished. I believe one of the e-mails was for receiving the resume and PAQ confirming the applicant is in the system.

Good stuff. Judging from your name, worked at an FBO in your city and live 20 mi west. Shoot me a PM when you can if you'd like. I think they may have a 10 post minimum for PMs here.

Yeah, I think you'll need 10 posts before you can send OR receive any PMs because I can't send you one. Be sure and let me know when you've made the 10, almost halfway there!

So at what point can people expect to get the thanks but no thanks email if they aren't on the menu?

Proud to say I've submitted my first airline application and it was with Atlas.
I don't expect a call, I don't meet all the qualifications, I'm still waiting for my passport and I put in the email I'm not available until Oct 2013, but I figured it's never to early to apply.
To all those applying in this window, Good Luck!!

Unless they have changed the process, you don't. If you apply and they decide not to call you for further steps, you just don't get called. After the first HR phone interview, you either get setup for the online technical test or notified your resume will be forwarded to the chief pilot for further review. The latter is not good. After you interview in Miami, is the only time they will send out the 'thanks but no thanks' letter.
