I interviewed last week and just got the email that says I'm in the pool. Needless to say I'm pretty excited. Still hoping for the 747 in anc though but it sounds like many 767 class are coming up. Guess we'll see what they offer. Everyone I met was a class act and made me feel welcome and happy to be there.

I'm guessing you'll spend close to two years in ANC if you're hired now. Maybe even 3....

From what I understand the 767 is the most likely airplane for a new hire for the rest of the year. There may be a couple 747 classes but mostly 767.

Yeah... There might be the occasional 747 new hire class in between seat locks expiring, but those guys will end up in ANC and stay there until all of the seat locks expire from the guys hired around the January 13 (meaning Jan of 16) time frame AND those guys go lower 48. It might be better if you live on the East coast to be a 767 CVG or JFK guy because your imputed income is crazy. I flew with a guy who actually got a bill his first year. After they took out retirement, health insurance for a family of 4, and imputed his income it was less than 25 times $75 an hour....

Just understand this if you do end up getting hired into the 747. My strong recommendation is to gate way to CVG to jumpseat up to ANC. The plane tickets in the summer when ANC is slammed will hit you hard.

And they wonder why people leave...

This assumes your income is imputed. It seems to be totally random. Some folks get imputed every month while others rarely have imputed income. Seems to be a crapshoot.

This is so true... I don't understand why they did that just to this guy. I don't understand how the people working in pay figured that it was ok to send him a bill for working here.

Could folks who got hired please post their times? I have a friend currently at a regional, who has 8000+ TT 1500+ Turbine and 500+ Turbine PIC. Would he be competitive? Thanks.

He has applied.

I was hired with around 3500 heavy international time with no PIC. He's competitive. If he's currently getting PIC, I'd stay put if I were him and get that last 500 hours so that box is checked on his resume. A ton of the guys currently getting hired are going to bolt for another airline anyway and it'll be 10 years before he's a Captain at Atlas if he were hired tomorrow... Maybe even longer.
