Atlas suffers the common problem in that certain pilots want other pilots to fall on their swords. Some pilots who never outbase are vocal that no one should outbase. Some pilots who do not work in the training center think that no one should work in the training center. Some pilots who never volunteer to work on days off think that no one should volunteer to work on days off. Some pilots who don't want to leave for another job and start over think that other pilots should leave for another job and start over.
In short, everyone else should sacrifice in order to pressure management. And they are very vocal about it. Of course that is not unionism. AAWW has problems, and a lot of them. But discussions on the Internet have come to be dominated by a handful of permanently angry individuals, some of whom do not even work here. I have been through this process a few times before, and I firmly believe that they do us more damage than the management sycophants. Gather facts, but be wary of those that are packaged in anger. Then make your own decisions. |

For those that moved to the CVG area, where do you guys live? Tons of options in Cincinnati, but not sure if that would mess with taxes, being a different state. Covington looks like a decent place too. I would imagine Louisville/Lexington are good options. Maybe Indianapolis?
Too much free time here, doing some research just in case :D |

Just trying to get a feel for the message boards here at AAWW. Why are you taking a shot across the bow of this dude?
The facts are interesting to say the least. It’s not a secret Atlas doesn’t have the best love you rates. Any ACMI carrier has to play the nickel and dime game don’t they? The business model for ACMI doesn’t afford to substantially compete with FDX or UPS. Which explains to me why they’re a constant stepping stone. Regardless, it amazes me how much negativity is on this message board. Just an observation from an outsider...(for now) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The ugly truth is, these companies can afford to pay mainline rates. If management couldn’t they wouldn’t be setting themselves up for major bonuses every time your turned around. They wouldn’t be paying themselves on par with mainline counterparts. Why is it they think they deserve equal pay but we don’t? Don’t fall into that ‘It’s only ACMI’ trap if you end up getting skin in the game. |
