I like the people I talk to on the phone. I like the flying. I like the layovers. I tend to avoid breakfasts and crew bars, and I go on field trips to odd-ball locations with a few similar weirdos. It's actually really cool.

Right as rain for myself as well. Couldn’t have typed it better. I do 90% cargo and maybe 10% pax. Granted, my pax runs are the AMC type so they are exceptional runs kicking it with the mil folks as a retiree. They cause no problems, sleep mostly or watch movies and they could resuscitate themselves if need be. Never really bored and like Elevation - I choose trips like Australia, Vietnam Nam, Guam, Hawaii ,etc whenever the rest of the world gets Ground Hog Dayish. Normally it doesn’t get that way cuz they’ll change it up for you. I know it’s nice to sleep in my bed, but a couple of weeks at home and I’m anxious to go see something different. I don’t miss my breakfasts, fly for my favorite world food, but crew bars are a waste of time for me. As I always say - “I don’t drink, but when I do - it’s for free!” So basically Emirates flights, etc.

Seat lock is 2 years, but from what I understand, it won't stop you from upgrading into the left seat of another fleet.

Actually, the seat lock is 3 years. But correct, a 777 FO could upgrade on the 737 before then if their seniority could hold it. However, keep in mind that the Atlas and Southern seniority lists will be integrated next month, which means that any new hire today will have 1,000 FOs in front of them for any upgrades.

Next month? Hahahaha

A CBA 9 months after? Hahahaha

However, once there is a single seniority list the upgrade time on both the 737 & 777 will surely increase.

Out of curiosity, is the seat-lock a Southern thing or is it Atlas, who implemented the lock?.

Same for both. It’s contractual.

Oops... I fat fingered it. That's what I get for typing on my phone and not proofreading. Thanks man.
