Probably by never being home

Isn't that company specific rather than a standard?
How many instructors you have, if you have sims in house or not, if you have company designees, what kind of operations you do, I mean if you are a 6 leg a day type of operation with in house sims wouldn't it be quicker than farming out sim training and doing long haul?
The question is very valid!

It's pretty simple. Been the same for as long as I've been here.

Full type rating ground school/sims: 8 weeks in MIA.

When training center is busy, there's usually a backlog of new hires waiting for OE. If you're lucky, you get OE a couple weeks after completion of the type. If you're very unlucky, you wait 3-4 months for OE and may have to redo the type ride (jeopardy event).

OE, if you're sharp, can be completed in a week. If you're new to this type of operation/aircraft it will take longer.

Caveat: Training pay is $1600/mo for the first four months, while waiting for OE. After that, first year min guarantee of 50 hour/mo.

You make more in per diem per month at training than you do in wages, so there’s a plus.

Numerous new hires have done multi month Outbasing their first year. Keep in mind for all the people thinking of coming here and doing the same. These people will be senior to you and the likelyhood or doing the same is almost nonexistent. The only reason they could do it in the first place is the more senior first officers we to ticked with management to spend our off days to enrich them at the cost of spending time with our families.

He was probably turning tricks on his 24-7s in HKG while in the middle of his 8th straight outbase...

Schedules across airframes?

Any insight on the different schedules of the 74, 76, or 77? I was asked on a phone screen what I’d prefer and I am trying to decide.

The screener did tell me that the pay rate was the same across the three of them, so I am trying to decide based on schedule and time away from home.

The pay scale is only the same on the first year. After that, your earnings will be larger by the larger airplane you are flying.
