The Company forced the Union into arbitration for 99% of the economic issues. You don't have to be Nostradamus to understand things. Labor peace and a BS arbitrated contract are on the horizon.

Correct. I'm one of them.

To me this is not a big issue. The folk getting this opportunity will have at least 1000 hours. I came straight from a 172 to a 145 and didn’t have an issue with safety or training. It might appear that the pilot shortage is on the horizon again

Atlas sees the shortage coming. They are trying to get those cadet type of pilots to come to them rather than to the regionals. "Why fly a CRJ/145/175 for $50/hr when you can come fly our 737 for $87/hr, and we will pay for your ATP." It's a genius move on their part. They get someone with low time, who isn't marketable to anyone other than the regionals, who won't fly much per year so they won't see upward mobility, and by the time they get 1000 121 time in four-plus years, can move up to the big iron and be a captain. Boom. Lifer created (assuming a contract gets done in the next four years).

The key words might be "didn't have an issue". The question is if you did have an issue, would all your vast prior knowledge and experience be of any help? I have flown with/trained 172/145 new hires with low time...makes for some really long days when things go sideways. I am not taking about flying CVG to ORD cleared direct.

Considering that the 737 is limited to domestic operations. Outside of hurting our bargaining position. What’s the difference between going from 172 to RJ and 172 to 737? I was one of those 1000 hours 172 to RJ types. As long as they don’t sniff international stuff outside of Canada and Mexico. The transition will not be difficult.
