Silly question - 747 flying is both -400 & -800? Is it just a differences course for the -800?

Well, first off it is designated the B747-8
But yes you will receive a two day course in a 747-8 fixed base simulator and the you will get checked on a -8 during your OE or shortly thereafter. You are not supposed to operate one until you complete these requirements.

This question is to new hire 747 FO’s. Has there been any bid lines that support pairings approximately 2on2 off ?
Or anything close to this?

Cheers

Is 17 on, 13 off close enough?

I think the closest you’ll get to “typical” airline schedules is the Amazon side of things (737-767). 4-6 day trips are “short trips”, however, there is some ability to lay over in base depending on the base, Jeff Bezo’s mood, peak season, and whether or not Mercury is in conjunction with Venus.

I’ve never seen a 2 day trip at Atlas. Not saying they don’t exist, but I’ve never seen it.

My brain is so warped after a cargo career and no units of measurement were stated I was thinking 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off.

If you get hired here, don’t say -800. You’ll get your pee pee slapped….or at least corrected

Honestly, that might be what they meant. Hard to know someone's background and I just defaulted to what I started with.
