Memphis is only a base for the 747. I don't know the most junior DOH, but per the union website seniority page it's the next most junior base behind Anchorage. Most of my class got out of Anchorage about 6 months from DOH.

I think these numbers are a tad optimistic, understand the 73 has pushed out a bit and the widebodies more likely 5-6 years. Although as always, much like the stock market no guarantees

Default Atlas Air Fleet Type differences

767 ONT FO is very relaxed. Reserve goes senior and barely fly, especially night time reserve. This mostly due to how AMZN trips are built and that changes from time to time. Right now there are almost 50-75 767 FOs either in MIA, or on OE. Make of it what you want, but those numbers aren’t for attrition only…watch this space.

I'd be slow to make any inferremces about growth or lack thereof based on hiring alone. Not saying you're wrong. Just saying hiring isn't a great indicator of plans.

No I actually believe going by how much Captain open time there is on the 767 lately vs FOs, more upgrades than usual are needed

For sure we need more people upgrading on this fleet. A fair number of us have moved to the 747. Only a trickle of new captains replacing them so far. Who knows what the future holds? There are a good number of senior FOs who are more than ready to upgrade.

The thing right now is that it's easy to make more money as senior 747 FO than 767 CA.

Yup. As long as Art33 in China is a thing, there's not much financial incentive to slide to the 767. QOL is pretty cush over here, so there's that.

777 (from what I gather): DHL. Laps around the planet to the same places. More stable schedule. Mellow folk.

767: junior flying is domestic Amazon and DHL. Senior flying is international DHL and AMC pax. Week on week off (10 days on or 6 days on). Not so hard on your body. Bad pay. Decent QOL.

737 (from what I gather) Hang out around CVG lots. Fly 20 hours a month.

Some southern person can correct/update me. Hope this helps you select a fleet or class date.

Hi, I don't really know about the cargo world and lately, I've been pondering about starting a new career here, that is if they accept me. I've been flying 737 for 8 years and wanted to fly bigger planes.

I also have been reading both Atlas and Kalitta forums for the past months and had a few questions. Can you choose the fleet you want to fly as a new hire? or are they assigned to you? Can I choose widebody without widebody experience? If I were to choose 747, how many hours do I expect to fly each month? or more explicitly, how much do I expect to earn each month on average? At my current company as a 738 capt, I take home about 9 grand on average. I am overseas with a family so had more interest in the cargo companies to work out the schedule to start and end overseas.

any input would be truly appreciated. thanks in advance.
