There's a lot which we could learn from the regionals and military. A lot of us, myself included, are quick to point out that low time pilots are successfully given F-16s, Typhoons, Su-27s, etc. Screening and training is part of the equation. Tracking and mentoring is another. All of this takes investment and some re-tooling and redirection of resources. People are working on these challenges, but institutional and cultural inertia is a heck of a thing. Whether we get enough done soon enough remains to be seen. I'm modestly hopeful.

It is interesting to see FedEx is now actively recruiting on Indeed and other online platforms, Lots of guys here in their 20's coming from 135, 91 world, all good people, even 23 year old female in 76 class!
So 4 out of 30 plus. We find the Alaskans often bring great experience. Med evac normally means twin turbine or Jet time.

The “Intro to Boeing” class does a great job of introducing folks to our side of the house and has produced good results.

With Cat II/III TRAINING, difference training, upset training, LOFTS etc the sims are simply required. I can’t imagine anyone doing this level of training in 5 periods.

5 sims, no way. The regionals alone average sim is 8 to 10 sessions from 1 to type ride alone with a LOFT scenario and UPRT afterwards. CATII stuff is usually covered in upgrade on a separate session and during one of the sim sessions leading up to the type-ride (new hire).

Anyone want to comment on the “true-up” 2% starting immediately instead of the 2023 planned start? 5Y does feel the market forces and has to react accordingly.

Not sure that represents a reaction according to the market forces

Looks like they're referring to the email that got sent regarding the 401k. True up for the 401k plan doesn't sound like it will occur until the end of the year but the 2% match (easier math, had a long post about matching and true up before I saw the email) is supposed to happen immediately.

If anyone is sticking around for 2% DC and has less than 3 years they'll be here a while. I agree with CRJJ, not sure that represents a reaction to market forces.

The 2% DC was announced a while ago, so this isn't a reaction to today's market as much as an explanation of how items will be implemented. The true-up is nice, though.

It would be nice to hear from the Union as to whether they are planning on (or have already) approaching the company with pay issues related to the monstrous inflation we're seeing. I'm 100% sure the company is charging customers more, and we have zero spare capacity on the planes (per JC). I would like to know that they were at least *trying* to get us some kind of improvements (yes I know we have a still wet CBA).

The weekly emails seem like a-lot of fluff recently.

Thoughts? Van driver rumors?
