with that said, I am guessing they will assign ANC as base and initially on reserve? How's the reserver would work? Do I seat reserve there or they keep me around my gateway airport until they have a trip?

Thanks

Junior base is ANC yes, and reserve is at a hotel, with a few exceptions. Then we have SCDY lines which is a different story, but to answer your question, ANC is the junior base and reserve is wherever that reserve line says, in a hotel, of course paid by the company.

Reserve is non-existent on the 74… plenty of flying to be assigned. Junior 74 base is ANC. I’ll be posting up to date Info in a couple weeks.

JFk fresh out of training, forget about it….

A 74 new hire isn’t going to be senior enough to hold reserve.

Took about 6 months from DOH for most of my class to get out of ANC. LAX, CVG, and JFK, on the last two bids (LAX FO was awarded at 5 month mark, I believe).

Hopefully I would commute just a couple times to ANC, before getting a base down in the low 48

Folks seem to be able to hold just about any base on the 747 about 3-4 months after OE. The one noticeable exception would be Miami which presently takes over two years.

These trends do not guarantee results, kind of like the stock market

After a busy few weeks on my end, I finally had the chance to sit down and look over the vacancy information and put something together to provide information for folks looking to come aboard about base and seniority progression.

This is as of the June vacancy…

I’ve added a separate chart for the junior upgrades for each fleet as well.
