I enjoyed the part of the first linked article (Knox Daily) where analysts expected AAWW stock to trade between $103.75 and $130 a share next year. Maybe they know something we don't.

Good point. At least someone, somewhere, knows something . Next Town Hall may be interesting.

Pretty sure that's a computer generated analysis article. They're talking about projections on stock price but that price has been locked in by Apollo. There's simply no way it's going to $130 unless they offer more money (or someone else offers more, but there's no speculation of that in the article because its oblivious to the sale). However they're simply pointing to the rise in share price this year and expecting that to continue. Yeah that's not how this works.

Yeah duh there's a lot of insider selling going on. They probably had quite a few automated trades pre-set long before the deal was announced. Since AAWW is publicly traded today there's really no way of stopping those trades from executing without triggering insider trading violations but really, I don't think any of the execs care as they're getting paid handsomely end of the year anyway.

I didn't see anything in that article that justifies the $130 price projection except that it's gone up so much since the purchase offer. Those kinds of moves just made the computer writing that piece glitch out.

Excellent summation. Executives prefer that the bulk of their income is paid in stock. It is not taxed as income but rather at the much much lower rate of capital gains. Airline bosses including ours are also very partial to using the company profits to buy back stock, bolstering the market and then cashing in their stock allocation. A legal conflict of interest in my opinion. When Covid hit, the big 3 had virtually no cash to operate because they had spent most of it on massive stock buy back schemes. That was the main stipulation of the multi billion dollar tax payer funded bail out. “Here is X billion $ of the people’s money but you can’t buy stock with it. Carry on.”

All true, but there was one more little stipulation: The deadline on stock buyback expired Oct 2021.

Titan dry leasing three 767s. Doesn't say if these were acquired or if they are coming from Atlas' fleet. Word on the street was Atlas was trying to acquire more 767s to meet demand, now they are dry leasing three to Ethiopian airlines.

Perhaps they don't feel that they can crew them at this time.

OMG! The sky is falling. Everyone prepare for furloughs. Some other Titan/Bain placements;

I'm still hoping for that Iceland lease to need crews. That'd be pretty cool. Not likely at all, but it'd be cool.

I don't think that was directed at my post but if it was all I meant was that if you are short crews, as most US airlines are, you might choose to put an asset to work someplace else. Those airplanes will generate revenue as leases with no need to crew or maintain them. If I was running a business, I might consider that option.
