Question

I’m doing research about airlines and I have a few questions
1) what is the hours they looking for? Can i get hired with 1500TT?
2) how’s the commute policy? I read that they pay for your commute is that true?
3) and what is the overall QOL?

Not to be glib, but if you are in fact “doing some research” then read the threads. You can find the answers to these rather broad questions without much effort.

1.) Yes. 737.
2.) As advertised. Yes.
3.) Good relative to most. Bad relative to senior wb at big 6.

I swing by this forum every so often and I've seen someone with 1500 hours and zero turbine time get hired into the B767. It's been long enough that person should have finished training by now, I wonder if they made it.

Well what’s the quality of the 1500hrs? This military time turboprop or jet or put-put-put-pattern time?
Huge difference.

What matters is the person, not the experience level. My new hire (747) class had some who had never flown a transport category jet before. And some who had never flown a plane with an autopilot.

Not sure how you deduced that. Applicants are asked for their fleet preference in the HR interview. The hiring team will consider that with the applicants experience level in offering a FO position and fleet. Low experience will generally lead to a 737 offer. 1500 hours in C-5s or KC-10s and a the door to a 747 probably is still open.

Seniority and fleet vacancy, after completing a 24 month new hire seat lock, gets a FO into a different aircraft.

Phone Screen

How long after the phone screen does it take to hear back?
Who do you hear back from?

Hiring 450 in 2023?
Pilots interviewing now are going into August- September classes ?

Shouldn't be more than a couple days after the phone screening.

Expect an email from HR inviting you to attend a MS Team's corporate presentation. All correspondence will likely be via email. Make sure you check your "All Mail" folder.

As far as the class dates, I have a friend who interviewed in February was offered a class date in March (started yesterday as a matte of fact). He had immediate availability and let it be known during the interview that he could accept any class. The lengthy delays may be partially self induced.

I was saying 737 for a 1500hr hire, based on the op. Looks like Clue got your questions answered.

How often can I change my airplane type?

You don’t have your Private yet.
But to answer your question, when the seat lock expires and when there is a vacancy on another fleet and you have the seniority to hold it

ATP Written Required

Hi,

I have 1600 hours/260 turbine and 410 multi and currently SIC in 135. I do not have an ATP written but have wanted to apply. Do they hire with no ATP written or should I spend the money on the written before applying?

CRJJ 04-14-2023 08:31 AM

It takes you longer to type that question than passing the written test, get it done.
