Default Training 767

Would any of you in the know be willing to share any insight on the 767 new hire training at Atlas? Is the timeline 3 months or is that a worst case scenario? Is there any opportunity or is it even acceptable to go home if there is a significant break in the training? Thanks in advance.

Last I checked the backlog was clearing up, but there just aren't enough recent hires in the 76 who's schedules we can look into so that we can see how they are progressing. 70 to 80 days should be the maximum. The fleet captain was very sympathetic concerning the delays, and with a little advance notice via email, was allowing folks to head home when they had 4 to 7 day breaks between events. Whole classes were being sent home after indoc or between systems and the oral for two weeks to several months, but that should be a thing of the past with new classes. Haven't heard yet if the Narita Sim is up and running.

Do you have a start date?

At the moment I would bank on 3 months in Miami (or Japan when that comes online), if you get done earlier then great, but as with anything in aviation; Plan for the worst, hope for the best.

Anybody currently down in MIA that may be able to help with a project shoot me a PM. Need a pic of a placard in one of the sims for a project having to do with differences approvals.

4 months is a normal start to OE completion. 3 months in Miami is normal too. Given backlogs, sim issues, etc. you may exceed this. We're clearing some of the giant backlogs we used to have, though.

I see this is actually a month old question and that you actually started this week. Welcome Aboard!

Still a relevant question deserving a good answer, so I did a few schedule checks.

3/28 Class: OE
5/31 & 6/20 Class: Post Type Sims
7/11 Class: FFS
8/1 Class: FBS

So yea, back to 3 Months in MIA / Japan. New hire numbers have been lower, 2 to 6 per Class, so hopefully there won't be a big OE backlog like when the classes were 12+

Good Luck!
