I keep having to tell you and others to make a fair case so they can make a decision and see if they can live with the minuses, and are okay with the pluses.

But loyalist?...hardly.

And the abuses have been going on for much longer than 2 years...thankfully the culture has changed in the last 4-5 years, and we will continue to build our group so we can march into negotiations lock-step as one.

Here are the pluses for a new hire:
- A chance to add international widebody to a resume to get a call at a legacy

- If you don't get called, hopefully enjoy a decent CBA in a few years

- We're not the bottom of this segment, but you can clearly see it.

- You can go some places that you won't anywhere else. (Purely intrinsic)

The negatives clearly outweigh the positives in this hiring environment.

"This is the life you've chosen" and "If you can't deal with the schedule why'd you come here?" are phrases way too often uttered in our cockpits. They clearly demonstrate a lack of SA by those speaking them.

IMO THis is generally from the dinosaurs that only know Atlas SOPs and will mostly be gone in 3-5 years.

There are a couple of classes in Jan from what I've heard.. some of the people in the 5th got moved to the later class date. Not sure why. I start on the 5th and haven't heard anything about moving my class date.

Atlas Air Hiring

I start on the 26th, was notified the same day I was offered the class on the 5th. I called Denise on Monday and asked if everything was going as planned, she told me my class was still being offered both planes. Should be hearing back tommorw as Kira was on vacation.

Classes being moved around is no doubt due to the fixing of the illegal vacancy award. No sweat fellas, better to delay class 2-3 weeks and know your new company is being held to the CBA.

It still infuriates me that they even tried that. That was completely disrespectful to us.

Yes, but my opinion has always been to not take it personally. It's business to them, and so it should be business to us. Leave emotions off the table and hold them to the CBA. As we all know, when Section 6 starts, they're going to try all manner of ways to get us to start fighting and arguing amongst ourselves. Let's step past the anger, and simply handle it just as company does.

Again, same boat as you, Brotha! See you in Miami in a few weeks. Appreciate the SA on Kira...was wondering why I hadn't heard any more on it. By the way, I'm driving down, so feel free to stay in touch if you need anything.

What was irritating was that it was a blatant violation. I'm not the expert on the CBA that I should be but I do read it and care. I do make an attempt to follow it. You didn't have to be a lawyer to instantly know that it was an outright violation of the CBA. Clearly.

I get that they want to make as much money as they can and there's nothing more American than that but at some point upsetting us isn't profitable for them. That's why I hated to see the attempt. To credit our leadership it was taken care of immediately.
