If you look at the record you are NOT all there to be hired. They are going to hire 4 people per interview day. You have to do some digging, but that is what you'll find time and time again. Basically you are also competing against folks in your own "group". In other words they will have a mix...some mil, some civ, some other. They will only hire 2 mil, 1 civ and 1 other.

So, go in and do the best you can, but realize if they don't hire you it's probably nothing YOU did. It's just the way they are hiring...if you were outscored on the online test and then maybe outscored on the writing test then you have a long road ahead of you.

Also I think this is why they are seeing folks quit shortly after they come on. They might have not been as good as previous folks or anything else...they just got the best score on their interview day.

Anyway just thought I'd give a little bit of insight for those on their way to the interview...

Wow, ok Iwas under the impression that they were going to hire the best qualified and that fit there way of life. But ok, In my interview class they gave 7 out of the group a pool letter. Best of luck to all that apply and if you have what it takes in my oppinion you will get the same, or else they wouldn't have aclled you for an interview. They have a very good screening process. Trust in the system, and if its its to be then it will go though.

Interesting...when did you interview and how many were in your group? From the last several classes I've seen 4 seems to be the number per day...

BTW folks this is in no way meant to say Atlas is a bad company or that their hiring practice is bad. I think they are a great company and those that are hired have a great career ahead of them. I'm just pointing out that if you aren't hired don't get down or take it personally. I think it is just a matter of their current hiring practices...reapply in a year.

Gas,

This is neither true, nor appropriate. There have been entire groups that have been hired and some that have not. They will take who they want, if you get an interview the job is yours to lose.

Good luck everyone.

I believe my interview group from back in September skewed the "four in every interview group" curve a bit. I'm not 100% positive, but I think the numbers were either 9 in 12 or 10 in 13 that got the call for a class or pool.

That seems spot on man. Out of the 12 or so guys that interviewed on my day, I know 8 have been hired and have either passed training or are currently in training. If memory serves me right, only two were ex military. Who knows if more are currently on the "preferential hiring list" waiting for a class. From the moment you get to the interview they put you at ease and let you know that they wouldn't have asked you to come if they did not want to hire you, and I truly believe that. They don't want to waste your time or their time. It sounds like the guy who made the previous post is a little bitter that possibly he wasn't hired?

It has been said in the past that they prefer Military time, which is perfectly fine. I don't think this means they have a quota they need to hire. Remember, everything throughout the process is scored from the moment you send in your resume. I can see that a guy with military time might get a little higher score on his resume, but I don't see at the end of the day they say, ok 50% of the successful applicants must be military. Just my two cents...

If you get called for an interview, don't worry about numbers and size yourself up against everyone else. Know that you are lucky to have been called and they see something in you that they would like to know more about before they offer you the job. Be yourself because more than anything they are looking to see not only if you are right for Atlas, but if Atlas is right for you. Best of luck to all!

I was lucky enough to spend some time there this week - what a great place. Very impressive.
Nothing new on the rumor front, something was said about new aircraft coming, but for all I know that could have been a reference to the -8s....

Good luck to everyone that interviewed this week.

Congrats to all that interviewed this past week. If the experience was anything like the one in Janurary Im sure everyone had a good time. Did they give any indication on how many classes would be coming up? Best of luck to you all. Now the wait.

just me 02-18-2011 06:21 AM

They did talk about 4 or 5 more scheduled classes. There will most likely be more, but nothing in the books as of yet.
