How is management, chief pilot side of it with Atlas? Side with the pilots?

UAL, in 2017, will hire TWICE as many as in 2016. In 2018, they will hire more than 2017. Atlas needs a decent new contract to staff planned flying.

On another thread: UPS guy said rumour of them buying Atlas. I think that would be very hard to do with the current Amazon arrangement. But, maybe UPS specifically wants to buy Atlas to prevent Atlas from flying for Amazon???

I would put less than zero stock in that particular rumor.

I wouldn't be so sure as to poo poo that rumor. UPS has deep pockets and has been known to buy a problem and make it go away. If UPS were to buy Atlas, it would mainly to get the aircraft and route authority of Polar. Most of the employees would be "Challenged".

Right you are ACTIVE... who here remembers Challenge Air Cargo out of MIA... hum.. thats right...bought for South American route authority I dare say few of those guys made it onto the UPS seniority list. Granted Challenge was much smaller than Atlas.

I may be wrong but I think the Challenge certificate ended up being ... Centurion a few years later.

The other problem is.. as much as the Atlas guys want to think they are "like" UPS and FDX... they really aren't... the entire model is different.

You are right we are nothing like them... We fly 767's and 747's with freight all around the world in the dead of night...

On top of this, we fly the nations Military to hostile bases

We now have a new partner with extremely deep pockets doing E-commerce with a number of 767's coming, I believe much more than the "20"

You are right, we are nothing like we them- we deserve much more than UPS or Fed

Every carrier I flew for had rumors that UPS or Fedex was going to buy them. These rumors are very consistent, and except Challenge and Flying Tigers I cannot recall any other airline being acquired by them. And yes, I remember Challenge and the nice flower warehouse they had in DFW. True, nobody moved with the traffic rights to UPS.
