Recency of experience however you can pull it off. Regional, corporate, etc. as you already have both 121 and 135 experience nothing will be new to you. Never make the shot you don’t take and apply, but getting back in the game somewhere will definitely help. Others may more insightful inputs.

I don’t see any recency of experience requirements in the minimum qualifications on the Atlas job posting. You are obviously not legally current to act as a required crewmember since you haven’t done any BFR/PC in 10+ years, but I don’t know if Atlas would require that prior to interview/employment or not. Technically, the training and PC at the end would suffice for those legalities.
However…it wouldn’t be wise to be offered a job and show up for training not having flown at all in 10+ years. If nothing else spend some time doing some instrument flying with an instructor to knock the rust off and get some proficiency and confidence. It can’t hurt to try! Don’t be surprised if they would want to put you in the 737 with that long away from flying. Also, I would be ecstatic to get offered a position in the 73!! |
Recommendation letter
Hi everybody! I am trying to get a job at Atlas Air but I `ve got no call yet. I flew Erj 190 for 10 years and now I am flying 738, both part 121. It seems I need a recommendation letter to get to the door, any suggestions how to get one?
Thanks! |

There is this random person that posted on APC seeking a letter of recommendation for a pilot position here at Atlas. I have never met him/her, I have no idea if they can even fly….heck for that matter I do not know f@$kall about them. However, they seem to have a strong desire to work here. In conclusion, since Atlas is desperate to find people like this I think he/she/them/they/etc would be a welcome addition to the team. Yours Truly, CA Jacka$$ Now please send me my $5k” You are welcome! |
Definitely make sure you post the same thing in 3 different threads. That will for sure help.

Could someone please post the rough hiring date for the most junior captains by fleet and base.
Thank a lot p.s.: I realize that these numbers are only a snap shot - another recession, hyperinflation or another COVID variant can all **** it up |
