Anyone have any info on hiring contacts? Is there anyone in particular I could send a resume/cover letter to? Thanks!

Ok, All I have is turbo-prop time. 2600 TPIC, and check airman, but all Tprop. Is there a possibility they could sniff at me at all?
I know a couple years ago a friend got on Southern Air with my similar time, but then that was a different job market. Thanks Which is not to say don't apply ..... Another thing, HR pulls resumes off the top of the stack for interviews, if your stuff is 3 months old they assume you've found employment elsewhere. FWIW |

If you know someone currently at Atlas they can use the company employee website and send a letter of recommendation to HR. |

The process has been changed since last year and the subjective approach has largely been done away with. Now the only way to send an application is from the Atlas website: Atlas Air, Inc.

Got a call from HR last week and had a phone interview. She said that she would forward my resume to higher up and to wait for the next call. Good news I hope.
Just a question for anyone: 1. How many hours do Reserve's fly? 2. Is Atlas on an aggressive growth plan? Thanks in advance. |

Just a question for anyone: 1. How many hours do Reserve's fly? 2. Is Atlas on an aggressive growth plan? Thanks in advance. Flightinfo.com Hangar Not one person answered the question. It could be that the pilots really don't know. That is one of the greatest things about the ACMI business when you fly all over the World for a couple of weeks and then have a couple of weeks or three off. When you go home, you just forget about all of it for a good long while. Well, at least I do. The curious want to KNOW! Especially the people that work for companies that do their best to not grow. Come on guys, spill the beans... PtP |
1. There is absolutely no telling, you could sit around the house one month and not fly and get extended a couple days the next month and fly 90 hours. What your schedule looks like at the begining of the month and want you'vve flown at the end of the month will be two different things.
2. I'd say yes. There are 2 pax planes for the Houston Express and rumors of another. The LCF flying starts this summer. The company has a history of picking up business wherever they can make money. If the world economy grows Atlas will grow. |
As for Question no. 1 from above...the number of hours varies.
We don't really have a reserve system like other carriers have in place. Let me 'xplain that... Atlas has always run a very tight ship with staffing levels that would make other airlines very nervous. I normally have my awarded trips plus a couple of days of reserve to fill up the month's schedule. Those reserve days are usually filled with flying duties. For those junior guys that can't hold a line of flying, they are "awarded" reserve lines. By the time the 1st reserve day arrives, most of the reserve days are taken up with flying. At least, that is how it is on the 400 at Atlas... |

av8,
You are correct the at home exam is a ball buster!!! interviewed recently and still waiting to hear outcome but I must say that the interview and the process was made to put you at ease and everyone is EXTREMELY nice!!!! Cheers, Cargo |
Atlas Tech Test
The tech exam seems to come mostly from the book, Airline pilot technical interviews, available on amazon, too bad my buddy found the book after the test!!!!
|
It's been now 2 weeks for me with no word from HR? Was she suppossed to assign you the exam right after the phone interview or a call from someone later on for the test? Anyone?
|
I'm afraid u might be out of luck. If u pass her phone interview phase she assigns the test right away.
|
Has anyone who interviewed very recently heard anything? I was in the July 7th interview class and have not heard a word. HR said it would be 10-14 days before they would be in touch. Just curious...

2 weeks
It took me two weeks to get a call for a class. I had given up also. Then the call came in. One guy in my class said he finally sent an email and was told he was in the pool. No notification he was in it, he never would have known had he not emailed. That does not mean you need to immediately contact L or D (whoever emailed you the information for the interview, etc) but I can be pretty certain they would not mind an email if it has been 3 weeks or a month and you still haven't heard anything. Despite the airline flying all around the world, it still feels like a mom and pop operation, and stuff like this seems to fall through the cracks. Good luck!
