Got the fedex letter yesterday, but it was the "congrats, you are in the pool." letter. Now let's hope I have enough points.

I'm in the SF Bay Area, but can't find any info on the Travis AFB job fair. Is that for military only? I'm out of luck then as a civilian.

The job fair is at the Family Readiness Center and starts at 11:00. Go to the front gate, (Airbase Parkway exit off of I-80). There is a visitor center there. Take your auto registration, insurance and drivers license in there and get a pass and directions.

Thanks Whaledriver for the info! :)
Does anyone know an address or a fax number that might get me a better response. If so who can I address the cover letter to. I have 9000 TT with RJ and TP PIC and hope I can be of interest to Atlas Air. Any info would be great as I don't want to miss out on this hiring window. PM's would be great. Best of luck to all. |
Make sure you follow the instructions on naming the file and converting it to PDF. Not sure if it makes a difference, but they have so many resumes coming in there right now, the oddballs could easily find themselves in the "circular file".

Didnt mean to kill this tread...anybody else get an interview?

Heck I am waiting on a class..........

Would a fast jet only military guy with 3500 hours have a chance or is heavy/multi crew time a must?

There was a single seat guy in my interview group. cargo |
What's Atlas pay?
|
1st year is $75 an hour plus a decent profit sharing plan(13% most past years). Check the airline profiles on this site for a full breakdown.

Waldo11, Your profile shows more than single seat. Is he referring to you?

PM sent...

Slightly unrelated
Does Atlas have any European commuters? Does that work out well? Are there opportunities to wander home during European trips? Also, how senior is the Anchorage base?
|
We have had a few over the years that lived in various European countries while being based in the US...we currently have a guy living in Greece, and another one in Dubai.
We have had guys also living in Thailand, Philippines, etc. Needless to say that this becomes difficult for bidding, families, and even your pocketbook since the company will NOT buy a ticket for you from anywhere but the 48 US states and Alaska...even Hawaii is not included in the Gateway travel plan. There are plenty of opportunities to JS on our own aircraft from FRA, HHN, RMS, etc from Europe and from HKG, PVG, and ICN in Asia and make your way to the US. Couple of the guys I have talked to end up giving up significant number of days off just so they can live in Europe and Asia. They even end up working back-to-back schedules from one month to the next. |
isnt there a female CKA who lives in Scotland and Spain and commutes to ANC? I seem to remember meeting here during my interview day in early April.
|
Like I said above, there are ways to connect with our own airplanes coming to/from Europe...I don't know her specific situation.
|
How senior are Houston or Anchorage? I know that JFK and HSV are the junior bases.
|
i am betting Houston is fairly senior.
|
If I recall correctly, IAH went fairly junior for Capt. and senior for F/O. I think there are only 8 Capt. and 16 F/Os based there. Anchorage is senior with a lot of folks living up there.
|
Actually, IAH is senior for Captains, and junior for FOs.
There have been a few new-hire -400 FOs that were awarded ANC recently. And others got their first choice in JFK, and HSV. |
Anyone else notice APC moved Atlas from the cargo section to the charter section?
|
Yea.. what gives.. I mean they have what TWO aircraft on the Angola runs and so they are a charter company instead of Cargo ACMI... come on mods... thats pretty weak.
|
Nope, it is actually only one aircraft flying the Angola flights. The other is a backup aircraft. It is also used for rotation during maintenance checks.
