Atlas Air Hiring
#3441
I did hear from a friend that said one of his friends from a recent interview group (I think their interview was early in May) was called for the July 767 class...and no he is not already qualified on the 757/767.

Thou may ask and thou shalt may or may not receive...
Gonna be the cheapest ticket to get you from point A to point B....well, not exactly....they have to save at least 15% to make you stop once for no more than two hours...they have to save another 15% to make you stop twice... in my experience after 18 months with the company is that they are pretty reasonable and only once have I had to do a really terrible connection...JFK-ATL-SEA instead of JFK-SEA... Usually it is very straight forward and the people in travel are pretty good to us...

oh come on......it was 200M variable 650M with sustained winds of 28 gusting to 40. Whats the big deal? Thats nothing to an ex-whaler. They left my luggage on the ramp for two hours. I had to take it home and power wash it in the drive. The ride home was pretty good though, United 777 in business class. Four rum and coke sleeping pills and dinner and a movie and it was lites out over turkey with a wakeup call for breakfast over newfoundland.

The last 747 Classic transition class started today (June 18th).
Atlas has a DHL 767-200 and a Panalpina 747-8 scheduled for delivery in July.
After those deliveries, the final 767-200 for DHL is scheduled to arrive in September.

Since I could no longer edit my post about, let me clarify.
The last 747 Classic transition class started today (June 18th).
Atlas has a DHL 767-200 scheduled for delivery in July and the final announced 767-200 for DHL is scheduled to arrive in September.
Three more 747-8s are scheduled for delivery this year. With the next one coming at the end of July.
In 2013, we will receive two more 747-8s.
So there should be more than sufficient growth to wipe out the pool.

Let me expand on that please...
Atlas has had a pool for the last several years, and are likely to keep that going as long as they see possible growth and therefore a ready supply of already-screened pilots awaiting class dates.
That said, the post above from JohnnyKnoxville lays out the known deliveries at Atlas...and we are likely to bring on the property more airplanes than the ones we know about right now.
So, hang on guys, I think those that are in the pool and those waiting for a call...you might be hearing from pilot recruiting folks soon.
At least, that is my view as a line pilot, with a glass-half-full view of the Atlas world.
Good luck.
