What are the operational and technical differences between Category II and III ILS approaches?
Operationally, CAT II you see the runway, CAT III you don't. Technically, one can be landed manually, the other requires an autoland. Unless approved CAT III with HUD.

Explain the difference between, lnav, vnav, and lpv approaches.
LNAV think VOR approach, lateral guidance. VNAV think the acft is flying an "ILS glide path" based on the Top of Descent and End of Descent point. Assuming inputted correctly. You can have VNAV engaged during LOC app. You can (should) have LNAV and VNAV engaed during a non-precision app. LPV - Localizer Performance with Vertical guidance. Need on Ops Specs, basically GPS approach. Not that I've ever flown one.:D

OMG, nevermind....I thought you guys were asking. Now I realize those were essay topics.

I am currently batting .1000 on guys getting a call from internal recs submitted and .900 on those guys getting a job offer. The key to this whole thing I think is getting someone to submit your app through our internal rec email. Find an Atlas pilot, buy the first round and your in.. Great place to work, and only getting better I think.

even if it was just an essay topic, it's still a good review for everyone, especially for those who haven't flown certain types of approached such as LPV.

Rocky, when can I buy you a drink?

Anyone know how much it will help to attend the job fair? I have an application submitted and an internal reccomendation so will the fair help? Money is tight so I want to ensure it will be beneficial.

Also rocky/any other Atlas pilot, beer is on me as well. As many as you want.....

Excellent! More info to review and look at a little more and even more info to learn! Who doesn't love learn new stuff. I'll just keep the info flowing and keep the fingers crossed. Thanks for the subject ideas though. Keep me comin! But realistically, who even owns a Ferrari or a Lamborghini? I don't know of any pilots that do.

Puck, I'm considering the fair in Chicago too. Good question, thanks for bringing it to the list.

I think he was referring to the cargo that is carried on the aircraft. I've heard Atlas moves anything and everything from Formula 1 cars to someones personal Lamborghini, and probably even a few cases of rubber dog $hit out of of Hong Kong.

I figured as much. I suppose I have to work on my sarcasm! Ha!

"What is the most critical issue facing the airline industry today?" Half of us said fuel costs and half said pilot shortage...

I think it is really just a handwriting/spelling/grammar test to see if you will be able to fill out the aircraft logbook correctly and clearly. Accurate answers would be a minor bonus IMHO. You may want to practice writing out a page or two of anything to analyze your own handwriting. An upbeat spin on it wouldn't hurt, either.
