Why is international off-line jumpseat allowed on Kalitta and Atlas, but not on FedEx and UPS?

Just curious.

It is a FedEx corporate policy. You would have to ask them.

There are certain TSA security directives that the ACMI carriers comply with to allow it. FedEx/UPS chooses to NOT comply with them.

Now cue the "what about the FedEx pilot that tried to crash into the building" crowd. Whatever, different time, different security (lack of) procedures in place.

Any Atlas types know when the next round of calls will go out?
Do they make the calls on a certain day of the week or time of the day?
Any word on Jan class dates?
Also, did anyone who completed the PAQ get a call yet?
I assume that the calls for the mid-December interviews have been done (or maybe I'm just impatient) and they are processing the online tests from that batch of candidates. I've had resumes and recs in since July and did the PAQ last week.

I'm in the same boat. I was kinda hoping the new PAQ would maybe weed out some of the older resumes without PAQs and increase the chance of a call, at least until everybody updated their resumes to include a PAQ. Just theoretical as I have no idea when and how they actually screen.

Good luck-

KC

Sorry I have not responded to the Jumpseating question a few days ago...I'm at home now, and less likely to check these pages.

Anyway, others have answered the questions...

One of our guys did some # crunching on the internal site and here is some useful info on projected retirements ......

So, I updated the merged list and came up with some interesting statistics.

# of Active Atlas FE: 59 (10 FE/jet) 6 aircraft

# of AAWH Pilots: 753 on published sen lists (24ish newhires after our list published)

Atlas 554 (224 CA, 330 FO) 40-60% ratio (9 CA/jet, 13.2 FO/jet) 25 aircraft
Poler 199 (90 CA, 109 FO) 45-55% ratio (15 CA/jet, 18.2 FO/jet) 6 aircraft

After 50 upgrades and including newhires: (274 CA, 304 FO) 47-53% ratio

Ave AAWH pilot age: 51 yrs
Atlas 52 yrs
Poler 48.5 yrs

# of AAWH pilots over 60: 125

Age 65 Retirements:

2011 - 7
2012 - 9
2013 - 36
2014 - 42
2015 - 31

I know, find something better to do with my time...
