Talon, you are spot on.

While I'm not going to begrudge anyone for leaving for a better opportunity, I do have to wonder if guys are going into this kind of a job with rose-colored glasses.

I'm not going to repeat what has already been said (in 98 pages) but for those of you that are even remotely considering a move to Atlas, please be realistic about what this job is all about. It is not one where we can leave home with a schedule and expect to fly that beyond the first leg...sometimes not even that. But then you have already read all that in these pages.

The real shame of it is that someone leaving after only a few months leave a spot that could have been filled by someone else...both for the company (from a cost standpoint), and the prospective pilot that didn't get that class assignment.

So, please keep your expectations in check even though you have just started, what some here have said is the dream job...that's is up for debate, but you get the point.

Hey man I have read all the posts on this thread, and you have provided alot of realistic expectations and inspriration for those of us on the street. Keep up the good work. Gold Star, Frats, L

Just know what someone at Atlas was telling me. Also during the interview at lunch break there was a line Capt who came in to tell us about the benifits. They told me there would be a 22% pay increase for the first 5 years, and a 4.85 hour "duty rig" to give the company an incentive to not keep you out for the full 17 days. If they do, 17 times 4.8 would be a lot of money! Also some changes in DH pay etc.
I know the pilots at Atlas/Polar have been fighting for this for the last 5 years. I just feel very humble and fortunate if I could jump in at this point and get the benifits that you guys have been trying to get for that long. TY!

Hey bud. Just read your post. If you have been sending your resume for that long I have some advice that I heard "through the grapevine" Type up a new cover letter/ e-mail body letter. (Cover is not required). Open a new free e-mail address, (gmail/aol), and try sending your new e-mail from this new address. I have heared from someone in HR at a different company that they put e-mail addreses on a ban list after they look at it once and decide not to call you then... to make screening easier if you have 10.000 resumes and people also updating regularly.
Hope this helps and you get the call!

The questions are somewhere on this thread - not sure how far back.
As a reference I used "ace the technical interview" and "everything explained". Both are very good books with a great index :)

Anyone know... if you are given a phone interview but not told to take the online test, are you toast forever? Should you keep updating your stuff in hopes for another phone interview or give up?
