Atlas 747 jumpseat?

I know this is going to sound ridiculous, but ever since I was about three years old, all I've wanted to do is ride up front in a 747.

Since there are no domestic pax-carrying 747s anymore, that's not an option. But I keep seeing Atlas's 747s parked at LAX. (Just operated into LAX today and taxied right by one.) Are those birds going domestic at all? If they are domestic runs, would the crew believe I'd lost possession of my faculties if I showed up wanting to jumpseat in the actual and explained why?

Gracias.

It's smaller and less impressive than you think once upfront. I don't fly them anymore but if you really just want a ride you should look into Atlas CVG/ANC or the reverse. Or, take a step farther back in time and jump on one of Kilitta's classics LAX/HNL/LAX. Overall, the whale is still one of the coolest machines flying.

You could apply and move up one seat row.

Or we go JFK-ORD, ORD-LAX. CVG-ANC, ANC-CVG routinely. Also, ORD-HNL, LAX- HNL.

Thanks folks! Much appreciated. The 74 has always fascinated me, so it'd be quite a treat to ride in the pointy end :)

There are only a few legs you could jumpseat on at UPS. ONT-HNL would probably be the easiest, and most open. The others (ANC-ONT, ANC-SDF, SDF-ANC), not so much (full of Brown pilots commuting to/from work).

No classics, just -400's. 1-800-BAT-CREW, and follow the prompts. Good luck, and have a good time. I'm sure the crew would get a kick out of it.

Atlas is the best! Great crews...great food...and they fly to some cool places. Watch out for Air Mobility flights...I don't think you can jump seat those.
