Yeah, it is going to happen. Probably sooner than we all think. It's hard to think about how fast technology evolves and exponential growth.

Fact of the matter is they will try this. And then a day will come when 300 people get crushed into a fine red mist by an autonomous aircraft and that will be the end of that idea.

Anything beyond creating 737s is well beyond their capabilities and they're not even great at that.

AI is going to very rapidly reshape our world, and leave billions destitute in the process. Should be a fun watch as civilization eats itself

The implementation of technology and innovation have always been accompanied by these fears and worries. History shows that society and humans adapt just fine and is nothing more than a blip of societal impact.

It’ll happen, but it will be military aircraft first, cargo next, passenger planes last. Doubt it will be Boeing though. They’ll be happy to take endless federal dollars to sink into research forever though.

A broader discussion of AI/robots taking over everything summed up very well in this CGP Grey video from 8 years ago called”Humans Need Not Apply”. 15 min, but well worth it. Not hyperbolic, not starry eyed, not fear mongering, but a sober look at the arc where this is all going.

This time, it’s different.
