That chart shows their power generation by source. What does that have to do with the market price of energy?

What your chart shows is Germany hasn’t really reduced significantly any of their “carbon” energy production. All increases in energy are renewables at the expense of hydro and nuclear. Most of us in the real world acknowledge that Solar and wind turbine energy is actually heavily dependent on Chinese coal and oil to manufacture the components.

Completely incorrect. Germany decreased its carbon emissions 37% from 1990 to 2015.

And Germany's per capita carbon emissions are about half of the U.S.

You know it's not 2015. Germany has dozens of new coal plants under construction. These charts were made BEFORE the bottom fell out.

Their heart is in the right place, but their opinions and knowledge on the subject was shaped by the media. I myself would love to disconnect from the grid, and have a fully independent sustainable power system, but it just isn't reality without major sacrifices that would put me out of business.

The projections of what green energy could do were based off battery and electrical storage innovations that just didn't pan out. However, their projections may come true as the first working fusion reactor powered up a few months back. Perhaps that will fuel a new race with actual technology to replace base load electrical needs.

And they are taking older coal plants off line. You are making it up as you go along.

Humans

We are so impressed with our self-importance.

Whether by our own hand or the Hand of Fate, we will one day be extinct. To think, that we can prevent or even affect that in any significant way only highlights the depth of our hubris.

Neither Mother Earth nor Mother Nature will notice, much less miss us, when we're gone.

Stay upset, though. It gives your time here meaning, at least in your own eyes.

No sh!t Sherlock.

Egads. Is that how you address your passengers about their flight too?

No. Just cynically commenting here on the hubris and the noise.

And for the record, I am neither fat nor drunk. As for stupid, as a human, it is axiomatic.

Humans are not stupid. In fact they are very clever.
What they lack, at least in the dominant culture, is wisdom.
