New supersonic bizjet?
Gulfstream reveals new supersonic aircraft, inlet designs in patent filings
I think I drew this exact same aircraft back when I was 10 or 11 years old! :D Always a day late and a dollar short :( USMCFLYR |
How would they engineer that nose? Wow. If the interior cabin is going to be similar to the G450 (~45 feet), that's going to be a loooooong airplane

Not sure what the structural makeup of the telescoping nose would be, but such a design is probably aimed at spreading out the sound pressure levels for over-land use, to be retracted for subsonic flight. There is pressure on the FAA to switch to a qualified performance scheme in lieu of the current prohibition on continental S/S flight. As we have discussed on prior threads, these jets are not suitable for small uncontrolled fields.
Here's a related thread-SS Bizjet News |
