Default For Sale: Sennheiser 45-KA Headset

I used this headset for perhaps 7 years, then had it rebuilt by Sennheiser in 2005. In 2007 I stopped flying and have no plans to return to jet aviation, so I've decided to part with it. The headset is in perfect condition, but does not have a carrying case. I'm asking $350, but will entertain other offers. Below are the specs for this headset.

The HMEC 45-KA is an open headset (boomset) with active noise compensation for mobile use in all jet cockpits. It is connected directly into the aircraft's internal power supply. The active noise compensation is powered via a battery pack.

* Noise reduction of approx. 10 dB - consequently ATC signal can be decreased
* Lightweight (4.5 oz./140g)
* Two-piece adjustable headband ensures a secure fit
* Very comfortable ear pads
* Boom microphone with noise-compensated electret capsule
* Adjustable microphone boom can be turned through 350° and thus be worn on either side

Technical Data - Headphone:

* Transducer Principle: Dynamic, open
* Ear Coupling: Supra-aural
* Frequency Response: 20 - 18,000 Hz
* Nominal Impedance: Active -600 ohms, Passive -150 ohms
* Active Noise Compensation: 10 dB +/- 3 dB between 400 Hz and 1 kHz
* THD: < 1 %
* Contact Pressure: Approx. 1.6 N
* Weight (without cable): Approx. 140 g (4.5 oz.)

Technical Data - Microphone Inclusive of Preamplifier:

* Transducer principle: Back Electret Noise-Compensated
* Condenser Microphone Capsule.
* Frequency Response at a Distance of 2 cm From Swivel-Mounted MIC Boom: 100 - 5,000 Hz (corresponding to ARINC 538 b).
* Max. SPL: 120 dB.
* Output Voltage: 400 mV +/- 3 dB at 114 dB and a distance of 6 mm.
* Terminating Impedance: 150 ohms.
* Operating Voltage: 6 - 16 V DC, approx. 16 mA, connections according to RTCA/DO 214.

Connections:

* Connection Cable: 1.8 m, Single-Sided Round Cable.
* Connector HMEC 45-CA: 5-pin XLR.
* Connector HMEC 45-KA: Headphone PJ-055 (6.3 mm Ø) Microphone PJ-068 (5.25 mm Ø).
