Default Delta airline pilot life.

Hello good guys I got a question how's life as a delta pilot. Is it different from other US major airlines like united and American? Because I wanna be a pilot for one of these three airlines.

The big three are all going to be about the same. There are differences, but nobody is going to pass up a job offer from one to wait for a job at another. Unless they have space shuttle time and want to live in a certain base.

SWA is different due to schedules. LCC are different, but in some cases they may have good things going for them.

I heard it's awesome, they don't drag pax out of airplanes but weather in ATL is a huge thorn..

Still active duty so I don't really have much of a clue, but airline leadership changes. The "leader" of the pack changes. One thing to consider is if your goal is to be a 777 Capt flying to all kinds of cool destinations I would say Delta is not preferable. Their strategy seems to be focusing on domestic routes and outsourcing their international flying to other airlines.

Also consider domiciles. If you love Georgia, NYC, Detroit and Minneapolis Delta is great! NorCal guy? Maybe united. Or maybe you're a tough to the bone gun swinging Texan? American might work out.

Also don't discount FedEx and Southwest.

The unique thing about Delta is that you get to size up and look down upon all other pilots donning a non-Delta uniform.. it's a wonderful thing.

They all have their upsides, usually the best one is who hires you first.
