Flying is much more a brain game then it is physical skills.
Yes you need some aptitude and mechanical sympathy but the rest is like playing chess.
And creativity and out-of-the-box thinking is a plus.
In my own career I've spend two years flying Part 135 ( Private jet charter) and my schedule was 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. Usually more like 16-12 but in any case enough time at home to pursue hobbies or a side gig.
Current job has a similar schedule so once I'm in the up and up financially in a year or so I'll be looking at starting a side gig.
So there are definitely jobs out there that allow being an artist on the side.
But you've got to pick what you want the main source of income to be.
Pilot and part time artist or artist and contract pilot.
You'll be a very lucky person doing two things that you love.
Go do it.
YOLO

This guy is an 'artist'
