Next Steps
I’m currently sitting at around 2,000 hours. I’m currently flying 135/91 but also have 121 experience. My ultimate goal is, in order of preference, to move to Southwest, UPS, FedEx, or United.I currently have the option to stay with my 135 company and build TPIC or move to a charter provider and build SIC team on a 767/777.The 135 company would only be about 300 hours year where the charter company would be 600-800 hours year.Looking for thoughts on what is the best avenue to take to build the kind of time these target companies are looking for.

Your overall TT is fairly low, but if you can get 1K TPIC within the next 1.5-2 years, I'd stay right where you are at! Now if you are not flying
very much, perhaps consider getting on with a regional or LCC that has quick upgrade and/or flow... You are hedging your bets on timing versus quals. TPIC is a golden asset. |
I agree, get the TPIC at the 135 while you can and as much as you can, probably worth more than 121 SIC. I imagine you're doing a lot of hours with charter. I have a friend just got hired at Delta from 135, he spent a couple years building TPIC before getting hired.
