Read his previous posts. Has troll written all over them.

If you’re serious about EK how are you going to take care of the person you’re a caregiver for?

In five years a U.S. resume will exceed whatever you think the EK resume will give you.

I don’t love dropping names. I do love being blessed to have met and stay in contact with many people.

We would both move to Dubai if I accepted a job with EK.

For what it's worth, right now you do have your pick of jobs in the US to some degree; opportunities are wide open. In five years, the world may be a different place.

In my experience, while working overseas, you don't exist to anyone in the US. That is, send all the resumes you want, and they won't get a fraction of the attention given to someone who is actually living in the US at the time. It takes breaking free of the sandpit and returning stateside to convince the hiring free world that you still breathe.

I have a couple military buddies who had to quit their ME3 jobs and return to the states to get any real traction with the better US majors (fortunately for them they were in the reserves, so could take orders to pay bills in the interim).

Not sure why, I think US majors struggle with whether they are rewarding you for working for the competition, or hurting the competition by hiring you.

You could always return to the states to a regional job as a transition if needed, but it might be needed.

With that said, my gut sense is that in five years (baring any Black Swans), the pilot shortage should be simmering on a low boil, and the bigs may not have the luxury of ignoring otherwise competitive pilots just because they work overseas.

You really do love dropping names, and I'll allow that I know enough regarding certain of them that your stories are absolute fabrication.

This industry isn't that big. You can fool some of the people some of the time. Just not very many.

I didn't have to read very far to understand your posts are full of ****. Anyone with any history or experience will see the same. You may not know the industry very well, but a lot of us do.

Ok. The fact that NONE of them are fabrications, frankly, discredits basically your entire message.

I did the ME for a while. It was interesting and “exotic”, been there, done that.
If I was single it would have been more fun. BKK layovers and all.
With every airline in the US hireing and pay and benefits going up daily, you are headed in the wrong direction. (Dubai)

I understand why you’re saying what you’re saying. BUT .. I must fly international, and I want to fly a widebody. I have no desire to fly a 737 or A320, domestic.

As far as I’m aware, there’s no US airline that I’d be flying widebody overwater any time soon. With Emirates I can still spend a lot of time in the USA (fly DXB to USA flights exclusively) while flying a widebody. And upgrade times are much quicker.

Maybe by next week I’ll have an offer, inshallah. With no offer, there’s no choice to make.

This is true. You will never get a chance to fly an A380 (most awesome looking plane ever) if you stay flying in the USA. You will also get a nice housing allowance and driven to and from the airport.
