Looking for a job
Hi Guys!
I have FAA CPL and did my pilot training from an approved part 141 flying school from Florida and have a total of approx 300 hours and currently I am doing extra 200 hours in Florida and it will be done by April. How will I log around 1500 hours so I can work as an airline pilot? Is there any Part 135 and Cargo Carriers who are hiring, that can I apply for?Its been a long time since I am searching job but didn't get any. Please help! Thanks. |
You might have someone proofread your applications when submitting (a native english speaker). Your english comes across as bit rough otherwise.
There is a lot of stuff out there already about getting hours. Good luck. |
Def have someone go over your cover letter and resume. Worth paying a pro to do it. Look at Falcon 20 cargo operators like IFL, etc... local 135 outfits that are pax. They need people that will stick around. Prob 500ish hrs a year out of a pax 135 jet operation. 300 is low get some multi time prob a min between 25-50. The higher the better.
EDIT: You're building time in FL. Look at 135s out of FLL and other local airports. They tend to hire lower time FOs |
You may consider going the instructor route. As several 135 operators require more than 500 hours before they will hire. If you decide to go an instructor route. Reach out to some of the regionals as there are a few that will assist in paying for your ratings.

Flight instruct. Work your butt off for 10-12 months and then pick a regional airline with bases you like and go from there. You learn a lot as an instructor. Plus, instructing is a lot of fun (IMO.)

Start looking for Skydiving jobs or Aerial Survey. Both are good time builders.

Last I heard Great Lakes Airlines hires pilots under 1500 hrs if you are desperate enough. Situatuation is pretty dire over there I was told, but you could log some quick turbine time to get you to the next step. Good luck
