Advice on notice of resignation from company

Hello all,
At the end of last month, I was interviewed and hired(received INDOC date) by a regional 121 carrier i've been working to gain flight time to be eligible for years now. After communicating with that airline's pilot coordinator, I know I'm definitely doing their ATP-CTP next month in April. I'm currently PIC at a 135 scheduled carrier, and am looking to give my letter of resignation. I would like to give notice that my last day is March 31st regardless, however, after reading other forums that giving more than 2 weeks can lead to them immediately showing me the door at any point, and in order to bank on PTO the company's Employee Handbook requires a minimum of 2 weeks. We receive a monthly schedule, so i know for certain which days i have off and which they need me to fly. And as we get paid extra by the hour after we work passed our month minimum guarentee, would like to make a few extra $ instead of getting canned for giving an excess notice. Any suggestions/ advice for a proper resignation? Is the beyond 2 weeks notice the right thing to do for a carrier, or is 2 weeks the way to go to keep me locked in and still a good impression. Generally,
Two weeks is the MINIMUM acceptable notice, but if your company has a policy requiring more notice (I've heard of six months), then you should try to comply with that in order to remain in good standing for reference checks.
If you give notice, and they show you the door immediately, they are probably still bound to honor your notice for things like PTO eligibility, etc.
If you give notice for the 31st, but your last scheduled work day was say the 28th, with days off 29-31st, they can cut off benefits and the like on the 28th but *should* still honor the two weeks notice.
But state law (and shady 135 policies) vary. Safest thing would be give two weeks notice calculated back from a scheduled work day. At my last job I specifically bid for a trip on what I wanted to be my last day.
Also if you call in sick after giving notice, you may well be terminated and considered to have not given good notice.

Update:
With a recent revision to my month schedule, my final work day is the 27th, and gave my 2 week notice via email the 12th to be punctual and have an electronic copy. Sent to CP, Schedule Manager, and COO. No response but I hear that's typical. Thank you all for your inputs and advice!
