PRIA Request Forms for Contract

All,

I'm trying to fill out a prospective employer's PRIA Request forms. However, I was a contract (1099) pilot for essentially one company. How do you enter this information? Who do I put as prior or current employer? Would it be the company I worked for or myself? Are they supposed to send the form to me or should I address it to the company I did the contract flying for?

Address it to the company you flew for. However, only 121/135 employers are obligated to reply.

I think he's right. PRIA is agnostic about the business relationship between a pilot and operator... if you flew on their behalf, you need to submit the PRIA request. If they're 91, they don't have to respond. But you might want to talk to them to see how they will respond, if at all.

Thank you all for the responses. I've talked with them and they will respond in a positive fashion to all inquiries from my potential new employer.

What info do employers look for from a PRIA. I don't have anything to hide, just general curiosity more than anything. Is it more of a "did this person work for you from this date to this date? or more in depth like, a reference type situation?

Google it, look for the FAA docs which describe the program. PRIA involves various records from the FAA, past employers, and the NDR.

We have a fairly comprehensive article on PRIA including steps and templates on how to request your own "PRIA" documents so you can see what an employer would see. Hint: there is no such thing as “PRIA records”.

A Pria, is a request for information from your former employer. Basically, relating to drug test, behavior, possibly even training events. Your current employer will not get a copy of your training folder.
